Design and development of industrial gearboxes
From the first gear calculation to the finished drawing set. We designed gearboxes of several types for industrial use.

The challenge
Industrial applications need gearboxes of different types, such as spur, helical, helical-bevel, worm and planetary. The aim was to design and develop them, with every element from the gears to the parts list worked through.
What we did
- Prepared the gear model and designed the gears.
- Designed the casing, and the bearings with an estimate of their life.
- Created the 3D models and the 2D detailing.
- Checked structural strength and fatigue, and prepared part and product coding and the bill of materials.
The outcome
The work took each gearbox from gear and casing design through bearing life, 3D models and 2D detailing to strength and fatigue checks and a bill of materials.

Structural analysis of a vibrating compactor roller
A vibrating roller has to carry heavy loads while it shakes at working frequency. We checked how it deforms and where stress gathers.

Multi-body and structural analysis of a shovel assembly
Digging in mud, sand and rock loads a shovel very differently. We worked out the joint forces first, then checked the structure against them.
