Electrical and instrumentation engineering for plants and utilities.
From switchgear and control panels to schematics, I/O lists and field instruments, we prepare the documents that electrical and instrumentation teams issue.
What we support
Where electrical and instrumentation teams use us.
Electrical and control documentation is repetitive, exacting and deadline-driven. We add capacity for design and drafting, and keep the documents consistent with each other.
Switchgear and power distribution
Low and medium voltage switchgear engineering, single-line diagrams and plant electrical design.
Control panels and schematics
Panel layouts, control schematics, wiring documentation and bills of material.
Instrumentation and I/O
Field instrument engineering, I/O lists, loop documents and cable schedules.
Substations and utility facilities
Layouts, schematics and documentation for utility facilities, substations and equipment.
Deliverables
What you can expect back
- Single-line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams to your drawing standard.
- Panel general arrangements and bills of material.
- I/O lists, cable schedules and instrument documents.
- Control and automation architecture documents.
- Revision updates and as-built documents.

Before you start
What we need from you at the start.
- Project standards. Your drawing practice, symbol library, numbering and the electrical codes your project follows.
- Responsibility. Design approval and statutory sign-off remain with your responsible engineers.
- Inputs. Load lists, equipment data, P&IDs, vendor documents and any previous revisions.
- Document control. How revisions are issued and tracked, so our documents drop into your system.
- A pilot. A set of schematics or one panel package shows quality and turnaround quickly.
Frequently asked questions
Can you work to our symbol library and drawing standard?
Yes. We work to the symbols, templates and numbering you specify and agree a checking routine before starting.
Do you design the systems, or only draw them?
Both are possible. We can develop designs from your basis of design or specification, or detail and draw a design you have already settled. We agree which at the start.
Can you support the control system documents too?
Yes. Control and automation architecture, I/O lists and panel documentation are part of our electrical and automation service.
How is our intellectual property protected?
Your designs and data remain yours. Every Profesyst employee signs a non-disclosure agreement, and we agree intellectual property and confidentiality terms in writing before work starts. Our engineering centres run on controlled infrastructure with physical and data security, network security on every workstation, regular information security audits and remote backup of sensitive data.
How do we get started?
Send us a short brief, or a sample work package, through the contact form. We confirm scope, inputs, deliverables and review points with you, and a small pilot package is a common way to begin, before committing to a larger programme.
